Belize IBC Laws

The International Financial Services Commission (IFSC) is the governing body that licenses, regulates and oversees the offshore industry.  The IFSC seeks to endorse, defend and develop Belize as an International Financial Services Center. All licensed IFSC are affiliates of The Belize Offshore Practitioners Association, which is a private sector organization that upholds the interest of IFSC and the International industry.

In 1990, Belize enacted the International Business Companies Act (Belize IBC Act) which is designed to meet the needs and imagination of refined international investors across the world. Belize, developing its international sector, has not ignored the fact that offshore vehicles may be used as tools for money laundering offences.
